5/27/2002-Saolin Soccer in Japan!

This Saturaday, the movie, Sao Lin Soccer, held its premiere in theatre in Japan. Stephan Zhou and Zhao Wei both came to Tokyo to promote their movie. Last night, Stephan Zhou and Zhao Wei happily appeared hand in hand at the Japanese theatre for the primere, to the delight of Japanese reporters.

The entire theatre was completely full, and after the movie, there were loud applauses and cheers, which made both Stephan and Vicki very happy. Stephan Zhou says that Vicki will definity be invited to act in the sequel once it starts filming.

At the theatre, both Stephan and Zhao Wei accepted the reporters' request of an interview. Zhao Wei compliments Stephan as a really good actor and director while Stephan Zhou replies that Zhao Wei was one of the best actress that he's ever worked with, both of them showering compliments on each other.

When the viewing was over, Zhao Wei continued on to a TV station where she is to go on a show to promote Saolin Soccer.

3/22/2002-Lately, you may have noticed that Zhao Wei seems much skinnier. In fact, she is. For a new commercial, Zhao Wei has gone through a specialized treatment in which a professional creates Vicki's diet plan. Within weeks, she lost about 10 kg. Vicki says that her waist is now only 23 inches in comparison to her 27 inches that she once had.

For this commercial, Zhao Wei also appeared with a new sexy image. For the first time, she is seem as sexy rather than cute. Happily, Vicki's baby fats have all disappeared.

WIth this diet, Vicki says that she is more confident in herself, and very happy that although she is on the diet, she doesn't have to starve herself in order to slim.

When asked about the rumors that her fee for the commercial is twice as much as the previous star, VIcki denies it by saying that the fees are about the same prices.

2/28/2002-Both Zhao Wei and Ruby Lin wins, "Top Ten Asian Star" award! At the award ceremony, these two former co-workers sat together, and despite the rumors that they did not get along, the two girls chatted away during the ceremony. Richie Ren sat in the middle of the two and the reporters noted the two girls nevertheless chatted around him. When reporters asked Ruby and Vicki to to pose for a picture together, they willingly did so, putting their face so close that they were almost touching at the reporters' request.

Of the ten Asian stars who recieved this award, Zhao Wei is the only star from Mainland, China. Despite earlier mishaps, she nevertheless was awarded as one of the Top Asian Stars, which made Zhao Wei very happy. It seems as though this is the beginning of Zhao Wei's lucky year!

2/18/2002- After the attending the premieres of "Tian Xia Wu Shuan", or "Peerless" in Hong Kong, the cast of the New Year's movie headed along to Guong Zhou to start up their promotion work. In Guong Zhou, the cast, Zhao Wei, Lian Chou Wei and Wong Feye, had to hurrily attend 7 premieres straight after the New Years. When asked about the not so bright looking box office of the movie, the casts all confidently answered that they had faith in their work. They've done all they could, and now they could only sit back and wait. However, they were sure their movie will be one of the most popular one in this New Year.

After the Japanese dress incident, many people have predicted that Zhao Wei's popularity will shoot down dramatically. But at the premieres in Guong Zhou, the attending mass that was Zhao Wei's fans shot this prediction straight down. From the crazy mass of fans that Zhao Wei has, it seems that the bad incident earlier on have already been forgotten.

In this new year, rumor has it that Zhao Wei was suppose to film a new movie with Richie Ren, but Zhao Wei says that as she has been working for the entire year last year, now she wants to take a rest for a little while.

2/10/2002-It was rumored that Zhao Wei was paid only 1/3 of Wong Faye's salary when filming Peerless! When asked about this, Zhao Wei merely laughs and say that it was natural Wong Faye earns more than her. Anyhow, she only acts because of her interest in filming, not in money.

How is she going to spend the Spring Festival? Zhao Wei replies that she is going home to spend the holiday with her family. As it has been already 2 years since she's been home, Zhao Wei says that she could not wait. However, she can only stay for 2 days before she has to leave once again to promote Peerless.

How is she going to spend Valentine's? Working!

When the reporters asked about the rumors in which someone reports seeing Zhao Wei and her ex-boyfriend Ye in Shang Hai having dinner together, Zhao Wei replies that although she was in Shang Hai a few days ago, she has not seen Ye in a long time, and it has been almost half a year since they've had any contact.

2/10/2002-"Tian Xia Wu Shuan/Peerless" is finally released! On the opening night, the 7th of Febuary, the cast of Peerless appeared in Hong Kong. Zhao Wei, Wong Faye and Lian Chao Wei were all there for the premiere of their latest New Years movie. Although many critics said that although this movie cost the most to make, and has more of the "famous" actors, it is unlikely to be very popular. Against the other two movies that is out at this time, critics said Peerless is likely to be the worst movie.

However, in Beijing, the movie recieved quite a good review. Critics there applaud Peerless as a funny movie, which brings with it, the happiness of the Spring Festival in its happy light mood.

Zhao Wei, when she is interviewed by reporters later said that in the year 2002, she will continue her venture into the movie world, and will be working with another famous director straight after the festival on a new movie. She also hopes to widen her career horizon, and become more involve in the Asian market.

In this new year, I believe all her fans would want to wish Zhao Wei luck in her career. Hopefully in the new new year, Zhao Wei shall be lucky in all things. Zhao Wei, you can do it!

1/26/2002-Tian Xia Wu Shaon, or Peerless is finally done filming. Now all there is to do is wait. This movie, which will be released during the Chinese New Year is said to be very funny, with actors such as Leung Chao Wai, Wong Faye and Zhao Wei.

However, since the film started filming, rumor has it that Zhao Wei and Wong Faye, both of whom are from Mainland China is said to dislike one another. However, when asked about this rumor, Wong Faye quickly told the reporters that this was all a lie. Zhao Wei, in Wong Faye's opinion, is a very straight foward person. She's very much like herself is Wong Faye's very word, therefore proving the rumors to once again be just that, a rumor.

As for what Zhao Wei has to say about Wong Faye, Zhao Wei replies that she really liked Wong Faye's voice and song, and after working together, had discovered that she is also a very nice person. Zhao Wei claims that she believes the audience will be pleasantly surprised when they see Wong Faye's acting in the movie.

Because of the movie, Zhao Wei and the rest of the cast has already started promoting the release of Peerless. Lately, Zhao Wei has been busy with traveling through Mainland China for the promotion. Zhao Wei saids that as of now she is still alone, without a boyfriend, but she is certain to get marry before the age of 30.

How would she wish to pass her Valentine's day is also something reporters are tremendusly curious about. Zhao Wei's reply was surprising, "For Valentine's Day, I hope to sit with my boyfriend in the streets, merely talking."

Hopefully, Zhao Wei shall meet the love of her life this coming Horse year. Here, I wish Zhao Wei the best of luck and happiness!

1/11/2002-Chinese merchants using famous movie/TV stars to advertise their products are nothing new. However, who were their top choice, out of all the stars in the Entertainment Circle?

This year, in the question and answer form, the merchants voted for the stars that they most liked using, or use to advertise their products. Suprisingly, Zhao Wei was at the top of the list, followed by Andy Lau, Nicholas Xia, Aaron Kwok, Cecelia Cheung, Wong Faye and lastly, Zhang Zi Yi.

Even though many stars from Twaiwan have also appeared on product packagings before, such as Ruby Lin, A Mei, and Coco Lee, they fail to appear in the list.

Another suprise of this list was that the other 2 "Heavenly Kings" did not appear as the merchants top choices.

Out of the list however, the one artist who is most popular with buyers, is Andy Lau. As for Zhao Wei, even though she'd appeared at the top of the merchants' top choice list, uncertainty about her popularity lingers.

1/3/2002-Yesteraday afternoon, Zhao Wei appeared at a conference meeting for her latest movie, "Tian Xia Wu Shoan" in Shang Hai. Also at the conference was co-actors Wong Faye and Lian Chou Wei. Zhao Wei arrived after the two actors, causing much frenzy among the reporters there. A dispute even broke out between the Hong Kong reporters and local reporters, which caused the two waiting actors, Wong Faye and Lian Chou Wei some amusement as they watch the reporters fight over their positions in the conference room.

Before the conference began however, Zhao Wei first announced that she had no intention of talking about the Flag incident, or the incident in Hou Nan, believing that it was best to allow old news to go. Also, Zhao Wei begged the reporters to let everyone know that she was just fine. With that said, she settled down to answer the reporters questions.

When asked to describe her current movie, Zhao Wei says that Tian Xia Wu Shoan is going to be her best movie, with such good co-workers and director. When HZGG III crops up as a question though, Zhao Wei laughingly said that she has no more time this year, so even if HZGG III had started filming, she would not be able to film it.

Zhao Wei stayed for a little while before she hurridly left once more.
