7/24/2000- Almost a year after HZGG was broadcasted at ATV (Ya She) in HK and blew the rates way up over TVB (Wu Sian) and made Zhao Wei one of the hottest stars of millenium, ATV was once again using Zhao Wei to fight another war with TVB.

This month on the 31st, ATV hopes to again use Zhao Wei (Xia Neu) against TVB and again win another war with TVB. Of course TVB was concerned, and decided to use "Four Genius" against the ATV. Who will win? We'll just have to wait and see!

Alec and Vicki are currently filming in Shanghai, QSSYMM. The cast often goes out together for Karaoke after work. Vicki explains that Alec and her are like brother and sister now. Because they have worked together so often, their fans have began to care about their relationship. Alec has explained that he only likes Vicki as a friend and their relationship is quite natural now. He explains that his past feelings for her probably resulted because they acted together as lovers. They are like relatives now.

Leo Ku has the main male lead in QSSYMM and Vicki has the main female lead. Everyone is very concerned about the show because the writer is so big. This is the first time that everyone has worked with Leo and the cast has to get use to it. Because of the schedule the actors can't accept any other movies at the same time.

Alec and Leo often play "UNO" when they are not working. Several times Vicki has fallen asleep while the crew was setting up the set because of Karaoke the night before with the others.

Vicki was taking acting school at Beijing Acting School and is suppose to graduate July. The school has critised the paper she supposedly wrote and has said that is was not done well, but Vicki says she never handed in this paper. Before graduating from the school, students are required to fill in a form for recommendation for a job but no one accepted h Vicki for a position after she handed in the form. This form also acts as proof of where you graduated, but being accepted doesn't matter because some departments accepted Vicki before she handed in the form. Her relationship with her school is not good. When she was asked if she would stay and teach at her school, she said that she was too young. But the real reason is because of all the disagreements she had with her school. Vicki attended this school for 4 years. She has a lot of memories there.

When she first did HZGG, Vicki explains that it was for fun. But after she acted in "Sword Girl," she was no longer playing around. She says that her acting has matured. Vicki says she really likes the part she is playing on QSSYMM, and that she will do her best at acting it.

7/12/2000-After Zhao Wei became famous, offers of films, movies, TV series, commercials, shows and etc. all came rushing towards her. She is endlessly busy with work. In the end, she got so busy, she couldn't do everything herself, so she hired her sister in law. Chen Lueng as her manager to help her. And after Chen Lueng took on the job, Zhao Wei's life became much easier.

Not only that, but Zhao Wei's mother also became busy. With all the letters, phonecalls, and gifts sent to Zhao Wei by her fans everyday, Zhao Wei's mother became extremely busy as she tries to write back to all fans sincerely thanking them for their support of Zhao Wei. And so, she became her daughter's private secretary.

Zhao Wei's brother was working in a company in Hu Nan when his younger sister opened her own company in Shang Hai. With her fame, the business came like fire, and so Zhao Wei begged her brother to come help her out and became the manager of the company. Even though the business was very successful, Zhao Xian (Zhao Wei's brother) knew that to maintain the company, it was going to be a struggle once her fame wears off.

And so, Zhao Wei's mother, brother, sister-in-law as well as her little nephew was all in Shang Hai, leaving behind Zhao Wei's father all by himself. To make her father happy, Zhao Wei bought him a brand new car, and when he has learned how to drive, he can just drive the short 4 hours to Shang Hai to see them.

Zhao Wei's father also had to stay in his old home Hu Nan just so he could develop pictures. As Zhao Wei's fans all wanted her pictures, Zhao Wei's father was always busy delevoping them. Even though he's already developed past tens of thousands of pictures, the fans are still not satisfied, and always asking for more.

She is just so , so very tired

Before she became famous ,university student Vicki Zhao Wei was as carefree as a swallow .

Now, the 23 -year-old can barely cope with her meoteoric fame .And for 3 days last month , she mysteriously disappeared

She had earlier asked to take a day's leave from filming in Shanghai to attend her graduation but failed to show up again after 1 day .Her mobile phone was also switch off and Qiong Yao was mad (someone not to be trifled with ) .

Of her disappearance, she said :"I learnt that the graduation had been postponed only upon arriving in Beijing ."

"I filmed for more than 16 hrs a day , far exceeding what's required for the employment law ."

"I was so tired that my eyes were swollen , so I decided to remain in Beijing to rest for 2 days"

"Before that,I never slacked .I worked so hard because i give face to "aunt" Qiong Yao .But i have to look after my own health ,I'm no robot !"

But this is not the first time she has gone missing

Once, after filming , the crew members looked high and low for her . She was later foundsnoring away on the steps of the bus .She was so sound asleep that when the crew tried to wake her , they couldn't .So , they ended up carrying her to the bus while she blissfully snoozed on

Her rise to international fame has been dramatic .She made legions of fans everywhere after her role in HZGG

Just imagine , 10 bodyguards escorting her during her visit to Hong Kong .She was named Best Actress in the Chinese Golden Eagle awards (not bad for a newcomer).She even beat Faye Wong in the popularity stakes Her debut album sold a whopping 6 million copies in Taiwan

But there is a price to pay

In feb 2000, she was spotted with her boyfriend , Ye Mao Qing , in Orchard Road (Singapore's prime shopping district ) .She was the picture of sheer fatique -her swollen and bloodshot eyes bing the most visible sign .Her boyfriend bought her an ice-cream but she just stood there with a nary smile .

She also asked her parents not to attend her graduation so as to not be the terget of media hounds .

At the 17th Chinese Golden Awards last august turned out to be a public embarassment .She broke down in tears after being ticked of by the chinese press for being 45 mins late . She continued sobbing while signing autographs for fans after the event She told the media that she was unaware of the meeting as the organizers had not invite her

When interviewed by The New Paper last year , she said ,"I think I am too young .I didn't know how to handle the situation ."

"Also , i was too overwelmed by everything that happened that night."

But for her latest fiasco , her mentor , Qiong Yao is not convinced this time .

Responding to Vicki's excuse that she needed a rest , Qiong Yao spat out , " These kids like to have fun ."

On the internet, there was dozens of rumors surrounding Zhao Wei. Some says Zhao Wei couldn't graduate, others that her essay was horrible, more that said that nobody wanted Zhao Wei after her graduation, letting everyone think, Oh no, Zhao Wei was in trouble again!

But on June 28, at about 2pm in the afternoon, at the Beijing Movies University 2000 class graduation, all the questions about Zhao Wei was answered.

Not only did Zhao Wei graduated, but she also graduated as one of the top students of her class. At the ceremony, Zhao Wei was busy taking pictures with her fellow classmates, teachers, and even staffs, as a suvenior in years to come. At the ceremony, one person asked Zhao Wei, "Out of your class, are you the very famous one?"

Zhao Wei: Not that I am better than anyone. Every student is very outstanding. It's only because I was given a good chance. I believe when given the chance, the other students will become even more outstanding, famous, than more.

Zhao Wei says that she was real happy to graduate because even after she leaves the school, she will keep in contact with her friends and classmates there. Wanting to know more about Zhao Wei, the reporters found Professor She Lung who said, "I read Zhao Wei's essay. I think that Zhao Wei is not as immature as alot of people says. From her essay, she seems to have grown more mature, and her essay was written very smoothly, adding in her own experiences these past years."

Zhao Wei's sister in law, also her manager says that when preparing for the essay, Zhao Wei had little time to think. And she started writing the essay right after filming The Duel and it wasn't until she was filming Xia Neu, that she finally finished it.

Reporters also interviewed Zhao Wei's class head professor, Twui Sin Tin. Professor Twui says, "The professors at the College all felt that Zhao Wei is very smart, and has a strong intuition and a correct feel. Her acting grade is very high. When she was a sophmore (2nd year at the college), Qiong Yao's HZGG group wanted her to act in the serie. According to the school rules, Zhao Wei couldn't film it. If she failed even one of her course, she couldn't retake the exam again. That means, she wouldn't be able to graduate if she but fail one. I remember the principle gave Zhao Wei special permission to act in the serie because the principle thought it was a very good chance. And then the serie became hot in Twaiwan, and she slowly recieved many many mails from her audiences in Twaiwan."

Zhao Wei's a very casual person. Whatever she thinks of, she says straight out without thinking of the consequence. That is just a young adult's thing. If the contract thing had happened right now, there wouldn't have been a court case at all."

She didn't became famous this quickly all by chance. She worked hard fro it too. She is doing very good right now. I haven't made her into my goal. I only hope that I too will have a good career. "In our class, no one was jealous of Zhao Wei. Whenever the female students talks about Zhao Wei, we all feels happy for her. I signed a contract with a Twaiwan company, and had worked with Twaiwan's artists quite a bit. They frequently say.
