Whenever Vicki wants to come to Hong Kong for promotional activities, she needs to face several obstacles, such as the school disallowing her to go for the trip, or needing to complete several travel documentations. Even if she has finally arrived in Hong Kong, she will face several rumours or unhappy incidents.

When Vicki arrived in Hong Kong yesterday, she immediately went to participate in the [Hong Kong and Macau welcomes return to China] event after attending a gathering with her fans. Coincidentally, her 'sister' from HZGG, Ruby Lin, is also attending an event at the same time at a nearby hotel. It is as if both actresses have telepathy, and are having their promotional activities held at the same time and nearly the same place.

When Vicki knew that Ruby is at a nearby hotel, she was pleasantly surprised, "I did not know that Ruby is nearby". As to questions that they are frequently 'pitting against each other', Vicki said "We do not know what each other are doing, moreover, all activities are planned by our companies."

The last time Vicki came to Hong Kong, the media accused her of being arrogant and proud. The press even got her teacher, a famous Chinese director, Ms. (or Mdm.) Xie to criticise her. Vicki's reply "I called my teacher when I got the news. My teacher told me that the media took only part of her words and made the whole conservation sound very harsh. To be famous in the entertainment circle is not easy, I am my teacher's student, and she only wants the best for me. So I will respect my teacher's comments and strive for the best as so not to disappoint her."

Vicki reckons that she is not good at expressing herself, hence the media may mistake her for being arrogant. "I am a newcomer, and may not know when to laugh, when to react sometimes. However, I believe that I will do better each time." Vicki also said that she is not 'qualified' to be arrogant. Until now, she is still trying very hard to learn and will try to correct all her previous faults. Hence, this time, she chose to spend the millennium in Hong Kong, to prove her sincerity towards Hong Kong fans. Also, her boyfriend is presently in Hong Kong, and she will spend some time to meet up with him.

Vicki's gathering with her fans, called "Hello Vicky" was attended by more than 500 fans. Besides singing, Vicki also played games with her fans. Just before the even ended, Vicki wanted to shake hands with the audience. However, the crowd was quite chaotic and some fans were even pushed around. As a result, Vicki hurriedly returned to the stage.

1/1/2000-Zhao Wei is now in Beijing(北京) filming her lastest serie,《決戰之紫禁之巔》 with mega-star Liu De Hua(劉德華). In《決戰之紫禁之巔》she plays the emperor's sister,(皇帝的妹妹)who falls in love with the character Liu De Hua plays(武林高手西門吹雪). She was supposed to be filming her other serie,俠女闖天關of which her boyfriend, Ye Mao Chin, is involved in the producing end of the business. But because the government in China has yet to "Okay" the contract which gave permission for the filming to start, Zhao Wei decided to film the《決戰之紫禁之巔》first.

In March, she will start filming Xin Yao's(author of HZGG) serie, Yin Yu Men Men(?雨濛濛). This is one of Xin Yao's old novels but she has changed the story a bit. It is about 2 sisters who falls in love with one man, who, in the end, chose the older sister. The older, and more serious sister will be Zhao Wei's part. Ruby Lin(the other female lead of HZGG) will play the younger sister. The male lead is going to be played by Nicky Wu. The other actors that is going to be in it are: Su Yu Pen and Zhou Jie. (sorry, don't know what part they play yet!)

Because of HZGG, whatever Zhao Wei and Ruby Lin did, people always compare them. Now, because they both came to HK at the same time, plus the fact that both their CD's were being sold there, there was even more competition between them. But both Zhao Wei and Ruby says that the so called "competition" only existed in the eyes of their fans and reporters..They are really good friends and sisters so they will only congratulate each other on their success.
