2/23/2001-Zhao Wei: Will release 2 new albums this year!

Around April this year, Zhao Wei is going to release her new album. Right now, she is cooped up inside a recording studio recording her newest songs in Beijing.

It has already been a while since Vicki has released a music album, which is why she places alot of importance on this new album. As soon as she entered the recording room, she'll start discussing music with her co-workers and producers.

What is the style of this new album? And what do Vicki thinki of this album?

"I think this new album is going to feel more casual than my previous albums. My previous songs were rather serious. Now, many of the young people has already too many problems to face, therefore everyone believes that using a casual approach to life is the best way to deal with it all. But casual does not neccessarily mean not serious. Now, my songs are starting to become more and more casual." {Zhao Wei}

"In the album, there are two songs written by a song writer in Mainland, China. This is the first time I've used someone from Mainland. I've always thought that the song writers of China is very intelligent, and very talented in music. But they have yet to become famous. If given a chance, I'm sure alot of people with like their musics."

Other than using the mainland song writers, this time, Vicki has chosen to change an old song "A thousand word" by Den Lee Juin. THis is a song chosen by Vicki herself. Why? "I've always liked this old song. I've always wanted to sing that song. Later on, Auntie Qiong Yao asked me why I would want to sing it, as the previous singer was so famous for me. I felt that we weren't in a competition. I merely sang it for myself, and because I especially liked that song."

Zhao Wei also says that this year she will release two music album in all. One is for the serie, QSSYMM, which is full of songs from the serie. The other is merely her own album with songs of her own. She hopes to give the fans a new modern feel, a more casual and natural Zhao Wei.

2/23/2001-Lately, rumors has it that Zhao Wei and Leo Gu was going to act as the next generation of Huang Rong and Guao Jing. Reacting to this peice of news, Zhao Wei's reply was: "No such thing!" The company has not ever invited her to do starr in the serie, so the rumors remains exactly what it is, a rumor!

2/26/2001-Ye Mau Xin, dating already?

Since the beginning of the year, when Zhao Wei and long time boyfriend Ye Mau XIn broke up, the medias have been at work full time. Now, a new peice of news spreaded like fire, Ye Mau Xin was already 'chasing' a new girl, who just happens to be Lee Tian Yi!

Of all people, Lee Tian Yi! At the beginning, the role of Siao Yan Zi was actually supposed to be played by Lee Tian Yi , a Hong Kong actress, chosen by Qiong Yao. But because of a movie that she just could not get out of at the time, Lee Tian Yi had to give up the chance. Zhao Wei took her place, and suprising, she became one of the most famous actress in the asian world as soon as HZGG was released!

Now, with the break up of Zhao Wei and Ye Mau Xin, Lee Tian Yi has supposely taken Vicki's role in Ye Mau XIn's life. The news of the break up came in the beginning of the year, in January. Rumor has it that Lee Tian Yi met Ye Mau Xin through a common friend in Febuary when filming in Shang Hai. It was said that Ye took one look at Lee Tian Yi's two large eyes and sweet smile and was captured.

THough the media has it that the two was already dating, Lee Tian Yi herself merely admits that she is happily enjoying been "chased after."

2/21/2001-After breaking up with Ye Mau Xin, Zhao Wei's love life seems to have turned into a public discussion. No matter what she says, everyone seems stubbornly stuck to the idea of a third person. First, they said that person is Stephan Zhou, then they changed their minds and rumored of Zhao Wei's new 'love' in New York, a Chinese immigrant with the name of Lee. When Vicki heard the rumors after her return from her trip to Korea, she was astonished. "What Chinese immigrant? Lee who? When I went to the US, there was not a single friend there with the name of Lee. Anyways, I'm not that dumb! Date someone that far away? No way!" Was Zhao Wei's cry of exasperation as she accepted an interview over the phone with a reporter.

Even though Vicki's rumors has never stopped, this was the first time that her 'partner' was not a co-worker. Previously, Zhao Wei would let things go by, for the rumors were spread merely for a certain show, or movie. But this time, her rumored 'partner' was something outside the Entertainment circle, and rumor has it that this Chinese immigrant has started to pursue Vicki, and as Vicki was touched, she especially made a visit to New York to see him.

On the phone, Vicki replied to the rumors firmly. "I went to New York merely to study English. It took quite a long time for the applications are first. When I broke up with Ye Mau Xin, everyone has already said that we are going to concentration on out careers. But everyone still believed that there has to be a third person somewhere. If I really needed a boyfriend that much, why the heck would I have broken up with him in the first place? Especially as the breakup was rather hard for me to make. I want to wait a while before dissussing a relationship again. I'm a really straight-forward person. If I really liked someone, and our relationship is stabled, then I will tell everyone. So everyone, just don't go on blindly guessing any longer!"

Manager-aka-sister in law Chen Rong, who went along with Zhao Wei to New York ealier on also said that Zhao Wei's visit to New York was merely to study English. In the beginning, they didn't want to announce it, and merely wanted to further her learning. Anyways, it's merely for two short months, therefore the outcome won't be very astonishing. They had not wanted the media to make a big deal out of it. It was unbelievable that the media thought their secret trip hid a secret romance.

Zhao Wei has been very busy lately, recording her new music album. In March, she will visit Twaiwan to promote the serie, QSSYMM. Then, she will start filming a new movie, Ban Ting where she will be acting as a college student. In June, she will film another movie. Her schedule is very packed, and left little room for a relationship.

Chen Rong and Zhao Wei both thinks that this year is a very important year in Zhao Wei's career. In the past, Zhao Wei and Zhan Zi Yi were both famous newcomers in China. But now with Zhan Zi Yi's instant fame world wide because of the movie, Hidden Tiger, Zhao Wei also hopes to achieve success herself. This year, she will be concentrating on movies.

Personally, Chen Rong believes that as Zhao Wei has just finished a relationship, she now needs peace, and time to herself. Besides, Zhao Wei is very young as well as pretty, she doesn't need to be concerned with such problems at this stage.

2/20/2001-For the TV serie, QSSYMM which is due to be released on television next month in Mainland, China, Qiong Yao has already announced that the theme songs of the serie shall be sung by Leo Gu and Vicki Zhao.

Earlier on, rumors had sprung that the four main leads, Ruby Lin, Zhao Wei, Leo Gu and YuPen Sue, who were all professional singers as well as actors, was in a dispute over who was going to sing the theme song of QSSYMM. Their managers urged each of them to vye for the chance, for with the serie being broadcasted every night for months, it will surely help promote their songs also.

However, later on, all denied this rumor. Qiong Yao also came out and replied that as Vicki was acting as a singer in the serie, naturally Qiong Yao had already written a good number of songs, some sad, some happy for her. As for the two theme songs, Vicki and Leo was privilaged to be selected.

1/20/2001-This year, Vicki had wanted to place her attention upon movies rather than series. Therefore she has already signed on to act in the new movie, Ban Ting. This movie is said to be about a girl who was a college student as well as an old "Jian Juin" or commander of a league in the army. At first the two did not get along that well, and was continuously having disputes over their varying opinions. The college girl who had a more open outlook to life, while the Jian Juin was very old fashioned and strict. In the end, the girl still left the country and went aboard dispite the Jian Juin's protest. However, she left with many happy memories stored in her head.

This movie is due to be filmed sometimes this year, a definite movie to lookout for.

1/20/2001-Zhao Wei accepts the role to act as Siao Yan Zi in HZGG III!

Unlike the previous rumors had hinted, Zhao Wei has finally decided after much spectation that she was going to accept Auntie Qiong Yao's offer and act as Siao Yan Zi again. Her manager stated that Zhao Wei's only motive in accepting the role is to thank Qiong Yao for all she has done for her. Without Qiong Yao's help before, Vicki would never have gotten where she was today.

As for the other actors, it has yet been decided whether they want to continue their role in HZGG. However, Wong Yan, who acted as Qing Er has already replied that she is willing to accept the role of Qiong Er, and will save the month of August to be free to take on the role.

1/20/2001-After Vicki's casual announcement that she had broken up with her long time boyfriend Ye Mau Xin, the media came up with wild stories that gave Vicki a half amused headache to determine what caused the breakup. Some said that Stephan Zhou was the person and the primary cause of the breakup. Other hinted that Zhao Wei was mad over Ye Mau Xin's long succession of indiscreet affairs. None seemed to want to accept Vicki's answer that the breakup was merely an agreement to give each other more room and space between Ye and Vicki.

However now, the news had changed its ties. Now, another rumor popped up, Vicki was dating someone else! The rumors said that Vicki who had met Mr Lee, a wealthy Chinese immigrant living in the United States, in New York when she was over there during the New Years right after she has had a big arguement with ex Ye Mau Xin. Mr Lee's appearance was merely the trigger to the breakup.

New rumors had it that Vicki was intending to go to the US for another break soon, which cause more suspicions among the medias who wondered whether the rumor was really true.

As for ex-boyfriend, Vicki merely says, "We haven't been in contact for a while now!"

1/17/2001-Ge Ge in Vietnam!

After HZGG's popularity slowly faded in other parts of the asian world, it flared up suddenly in Vietnam. Unlike other places, Vietnam had already released HZGG II before HZGG I. Therefore this month, as HZGG I is released, there could be the sound of "There is a girl", Zhao Wei's infamous song sung by kids in all parts of the country.

Accepting the invitation to come to Vietnam, Zhao Wei and Ruby Lin was suprised by the popularity when they reached Vietnam. Not only that, Zhao Wei was especially astonished to know that kids that didn't know a single chinese word could nevertheless sing "There is a girl." She was greatly touched by the warm and instant welcome the fans there recieved her.

Because of the hot temperature, Vicki and Ruby stayed inside the hotel most of the day. "All we did was eat!" Vicki exclaimed gleefully. Then she went on to explain her love for the delicious food there. However, what she loved most was the coffee. "I bought like twently bags of it when I left!" She added gleefully.

As for her fans in Twaiwan, Zhao Wei has not forgotten them. "We're waiting for the permission from China right now. WHen QSSYMM is released over there, then I can go visit Twaiwan once again. In this serie, my role is totally different from that of HZGG. Hope everyone will like the new 'me.'" As her new movie, Saolin Soccer was already finished, Vicki has already started recording for her third album in Beijing. As for the rumors concerning Stephan Zhou and her, Zhao Wei again denies it. "They're saying we're going out. But then how come I spent my Valentine's day in the recording room?"

1/18/2001-Zhao Wei's relationship brought into light, from Spring to Winter.

In January (the 11th to be exact), Zhao Wei, while being interviewed by reporters in Twaiwan said, "I have already talked with my boyfriend. In the future, we will be busy with our own things. After all, career is very important. Both of us needs to work at it. We haven't have had contact in a while already."

Zhao Wei and Ye Mau Xin first met before the filming of Huan Zhu Ge Ge. At first, both of them were happy together. However, later on, they were both busy with their own career and jobs, in addition to the fact that they were frequently apart, and finally, it came to a break up. Rught now, Zhao Wei was still in Zhu Hai filming Shaolin Soccer with Stephan Zhou. When she is done with the last scenes, Zhao Wei plans on going to Thailand for a vacation with her father and mother for a break.

Stephan Zhou is the third person?

Ever since Zhao Wei became famous because of HZGG, every other films after that, rumors will spread about her male co-workers and her. This time, while filming Shaolin Soccer, Stephan Zhou and Zhao Wei was also said to be dating by the medias. Before that, the Hong Kong media has already pointed out that Stephan was especially kind to Zhao Wei, and while teaching her new techniques, would hold up her hands to give her more acting tips. Behind the scenes, they were very friendly, and was even caught by the reporters when they walked through the streets arms linked by photographers, which later made front page of a Hong Kong magazine.

Zhao Wei and her boyfriend Ye has never advoided disscussing any of the rumors concerning Vicki. She has even showered compliments of Stephan Zhou infront of Ye Mau Xin, and kept saying that Stephan was her idol. As for Stephan, he has also said that Zhao Wei was an actress that he's wanted to work with for over a year.

Last spring, in The Duel, Zhao Wei and Andy Lau had a kissing scene in the movie. However, after the scene Vicki said, "That time, we had to kiss with a cloth between us, and there was alot of people watching, so I didn't have alot of suprise. That's why I hope that there might be a chance to kiss Andy Lau again, but without the cloth this time!"

Last summer, while being interviewed, Sue Yu Pen said that he had once secretly admired Zhao Wei for a year. But when he heard that she flew to Shang Hai to see her boyfriend during filming, he felt really depressed and lonely. And not for a long time before he was calm once again.

Last fall, Zhao Wei was filming Qing Sen Sen Yin Men Men, and boyfriend Ye Mau Xin gave her rides to and from the set daily, which caused a bit of a dispute between the two. However, Zhao Wei's manager said that couples argueing was entirely normal. Zhao Wei and Ye might have an arguement one day, but will be as close as before the next..It's really no big deal!

Last winter, while filming Shaolin Soccer, the rumors about Stephan and ZHao Wei spreaded only after a month of filming. To that, Zhao Wei clearly stated, "We really feel that next time there is a reporter's meeting, we might as well come holding hands. That way, everyone will really see that in reality, there's really nothing between us. Really!"
