Because of the low ratings these past years, many actors/actresses had to lower their prices immensely to get a role. However Yupen was different. He rejected 6 different 8pm TV series all in one breath only so that he can promote his new album, 'Are You Happy?'

Maybe it's because Yupen hasn't had an album out since 1995 that has him walking away from all these TV series without a backwards glance, not caring at the amount of money he's throwing away. To once again go onstage as a singer was more important to Yupen. He hopes the Music Company can set up concerts for him in Mainland, China this following month, after QSSYMM finishes up.

8/17/2000-Sue Yu Pen's new song, 'Are You Happy' was broadcasted in the begginning of the month on radio, then later placed online. When news drifted to Yupen that fans were crowding up the music room online where his song was broadcasted, making traffic difficult, he at first didn't believe it.. When he came online and saw all the discussions and compliments as well as notes of support left by the fans. he couldn't believe his eyes. It was so long since he's once again faced the world with his singer image and he couldn't believe his once again popularity,

8/17/2000-Because the deadline of the filming of QSSYMM looned ahead, Yupen worked himself into the grounds trying to get everything done on or before September 5th so he can hurry back to Twaiwan to promote his new album. He worked night and day, barely getting any sleep, and his body finally broke down on him with a fever. His wisdom teeth was growing back in, and the pain was incredible, but Yupen says, 'Have to fight it' and must continue on filming in order to reach the deadline on time. The pressure was heavy, but with the fans supporting him, he could bare it. His birthday was coming soon (9/11) and already he had happily recieved hundreds of presents from his fans all over the world. I'm sure he'll pull through just for us.

8/9/2000-When Yupen had gotten in an accident, QSSYMM let him return to Twaiwan for a one week rest. During that time, his record company had to take hold of this chance, and have him hurry and film his MTVs for his new album, Are You Happy? Even with a hurt arm, Yupen still carried on...taking his cast off to climb onto a tree with the help of three workers and film the MTV. This is a part of the MTV where he is thinking over the past, his expressions thoughtful, cool, despite that his arm was killing him, Yupen succeeded. He broke the record, and film an entire MTV in a short 5 hours, broken arm and all.

Now, Yupen was hurrying with his new serie QSSYMM which is planned to finish at the beggining of September. He is a bit nervous about not knowing how his album is doing, and so, places a call every single day to Twaiwan to check up on the situation as he won't be able fly back for the promotion until the middle of September. He placed so many calls this month that his phone bills have run up to almost $30,000!

8/7/2000-Yupen's new album, Are You Happy is due to be released on the 10th of August!!! Don't forget to buy your own (real!!) copy!! His entire look in his new album is very 'real.' The clothings he wore in the MTVs are mostly his own, T-shirts and jeans, for he wanted to show everyone the 'real' him.

8/5/5000-Even though YuPen had at first thought that both acting and singing were his favorites, and both just as important, when he leanred that his song, "Are You Happy" was broadcasted in Twaiwan, he suddenly got very nervous. Maybe it was because it was the first time he's had an album out in 5 years, or maybe it's because when the album comes out, he won't have the time to promote it, but he suddenly got so anxious that he had to come online to see how the fans took it.

He was really happy to see his fans supporting him, and complimenting him on his new song. It was, they said, more matured, different from his earlier songs in Sia Hou Dua (Little Tiger). With that, Yupen finally relaxed a bit.

He says, "The coming out of the new album is like a new experience for me, the first time I have a new album, yet couldn't return to Twaiwan to promote, my feelings now and the feelings earlier was of course different. 'Are You Happy' is very appropriate according to my current feelings. If I hadn't seen the album coming out situation in Twaiwan online, I would really do almost anything to fly back to Twaiwan. Thank god there's the Little Tiger's loyal fans there supporting me. If not, even if I was filming, I wouldn't feel content."
