5/31/2002-Sue Yu Pen's fame has kept going up in Mainland, China. His job as the Min Zhu shoes' spokesperson earned him a salary of $3,000,000. Yet, when YuPen saw some of the places in China where students were unable to attend school because of the family's financial program, YuPen willingly donated half of his fee, about $1500,000, to a program to help these children. He hopes that by doing this, people will give more attention to charity and help the needy.
6/25/2002-Sue Yu Pen: Don't Like Girls Who "Chases" Him
YuPen is currently in Bejing, filming his new TV serie, Yi Tian. Today, he especially asked for a break from filming in order to come back to Twaiwan to promote his new album, "I'm for Real." He only has 6 days in order to do so. With his work taking up almost all of his time, YuPen still lacks for a relationship. But YuPen says that he doesn't really like girls that "chases" him.
Yu Pen says that he wants to have a serious relationship. But if the feelings aren't there, he would rather be friends unless he really likes the person.
For YuPen, this promotion period was going to be hectic. But because he feels that acting was a way to earn money, and singing was his true love, he was willing to give up alot for it. This time back in Twaiwan,YuPen's main purpose is to remind the audience that he is a singer as well as an actor.
YuPen says that he wants to act as a bad character for once. However, because of his physical appearance, people have always wanted him to act as the good characters. As for the currently popular teen series, YuPen laughingly replies that his face is one that audience have seem countless times, therefore its probably better to leave these chances to the newer actors.
Because YuPen is in China filming most of the time, YuPen has already bought houses in Bejing and Shang Hai. As for whether he shall be having a round the China concert in September, YuPen replies that as the government has yet to consent, he has no clue.
6/26/2002- Sue Yu Pen is currently back in Twaiwan promoting his new TV serie, "Amazing Cases" as well as his new album. Because of his return, the rating for the "Amazing Cases" have gone up, making YuPen extremely satisfied. In the Amazing Cases, YuPen worked with two chinese actresses; Wong Yan (Chin Ge Ge from HZGG II) and Jing Min (once a very famous child-star.) Although neither of the actresses could come to Twaiwan, both of them publised their opinion about Yu Pen at the reporter's meeting.
Jing Min says that even as a child, she has been a loyal fan of the Little Tigers Group (a group YuPen was once in yrs ago), and she even has an autograph of Yupen's from a long time ago. When she had the chance to work with him, she was extremely happy. When the reporters asked whether she still loved YuPen, Jing Min laughed and said I love You three times to YuPen. YuPen's reply? "Then don't forget to e-mail me!"
As for Wong Yan, YuPen laughs and said that their friendship started at a game of cards. Wong Yan replies that she always loses. Yupen merely laughed again and said that he was just too smart.
4/1/2002-A week ago, Sue Yu Pen successfully opened up his first personal concert in his 14 years in the Entertainment Circle. Having always been considered as "Guai," cute, nice and clean-cut, he pleasantly suprised his fans with his new sexy styles, dancing body to body with the female dancers until the atmosphere almost errupted with excitement!
Last week, YuPen's first concert was held in Shang Hai. Onstage, he wore extremely short cut pants, and danced with four female dancers very closely. So sexy that his fans screamed from the begining to the very end of the concert, allowing the concert to be swarmed with excitements throughout the show.
For the concert, YuPen has invited his old friends Benny Chen and Nicky Wu. The three previous "Siao Hou Dao" or Little Tigers, sang their one time infamous song, "Stars still bright." They also broadcasted the Little Tigers' history and their careers from the very beginning. The fans became so emotional that many cried as they remembered.
Although the concert was held in Shang Hai, YuPen's fans from the U.S, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Britain, Europe and Thailand, also came to support their favorate singer. Of the fans, the oldest was a women in her seventies, who reportedly had given YuPen a gold necklace as her present to her idol.
The concert ticket, which had been around 300 yans ended up becoming over a thousand yans, once again proving YuPen's popularity and fame. Good luck YuPen!
3/10/2002-Because his first concert is this month on the 22nd in Shang Hai, right now Sue Yu Pen says he is in the middle of practicing for his concert. When he appeared out in public yesteraday, his fans were astonished by his change in appearance. Earlier on he'd been still very white, but in the times in between, YuPen has grown very tan.
There had been rumors earlier on about YuPen being afraid of inviting certain guests to his concert in the fear that the guests will steal the spotlight. To that rumor, YuPen's response was that of annoyance. He explains that even when he had just started planning on a concert, he'd wanted to invite people that have been part of his entertainment career. The first person that he'd invited was Zhao Wei. She, happily, said okay as soon as he asked her, believing that she will also be in Shang Hai at the time. However, a few days later, Zhao Wei's manager called to apologise, saying that Zhao Wei will be in the United States at the time of his concert, and therefore unable to attend. Even though YuPen says he is sorry that ZHao Wei couldn't make it, he was still grateful that Zhao Wei had said yes as soon as he'd asked.
With that, YuPen re-announced that he was not afraid of anyone stealing his spotlight at the concert, and whoever had spreaded the rumors was making up the stories all on his own.
2/18/2002-Take a lucky guess; after having successfully gone the role of a singer to that of an actor, what is Sue Yu Pen's current salary? The question is answered in YuPen's newest TV serie, which shall start filming this coming April in Mainland China, called "Yi Tian Chu Luong Zi." As the main character, "Zhan Wu Zi" in the serie, YuPen shall be recieving $200,000 Twai-be. That is almost 20 to 40 times more than the new Twaiwanese idols are earning!
It has been almost half a year since YuPen has appeared publically in Twaiwan. This time, Yu Pen secretly returned to Twaiwan for the New Spring festival to spend the holiday with his parents and brother. His hair is much longer, and his skin, because of working outside in China, has become quite tan, making him seem more masculine. He says,"There of course are some good in having worked so hard. Last year, I accepted the series, "Zhan Sen Fuen," "Promise of Youth," and "Amazing Cases," as well as became the spokesperson for the Chinese Kan She Fu Green Tea , and earned some money. At the end of the year last year, I bought a house in Beijing with it, and will probably buy a three story building in Shang Hai this year."
From that we can tell that the "some" money YuPen spoke of is definity more than $5,000,000 yans. Last year, YuPen became a part of the Hong Kong's New Melody company, and released an album, "Don't understand love" which sold for over 400,000 albums in Mainland China. This coming March, New Melody is planning on releasing a second album, and have already planned on a series of concerts in China as well as going on various TV shows. Calculating all that, Yupen's sure to have earned close to $10,000,000 or more!
It has already been 6 years since Siao Hu Dao(Little Tiger Group) has held a concert in Twaiwan, therefore YuPen is now very excited and anxious about his own personal concerts. He's worked so hard so he can buy a house in China merely so that his family can come to China for the concerts. And for a period now, he has already practiced hard on new and old songs, hoping to make his concerts a great success.
YuPen says that he hopes his guests at the concerts shall be Benny Chen and Nicky Wu, both of whom are members of the previous Siao Hu Dao. He also wish to invite Leo Gu, whom he became friends with while filming QSSYMM. Its been rumored that all three of them have already promised to come, despite their busy schedules, making YuPen very touched.
After Twins 2002 has finished broadcasting, YuPen's other serie, "Amazing Cases" shall come straight after at the TVB channel in Twaiwan. The theme song for the Amazing Cases is also song by YuPen. For an artist to be both a singer and actor is very common, but to make such a success of both is very hard. Yet, YuPen has done it!
2/18/2002-YuPen and Ruby Lin's friendship must be deep! Despite being good friends, when YuPen handed out "hong baos" this year, Ruby Lin got one too! Ruby laughingly says,"Sue Yu Pen is not a cheap person! Anyways, I'm younger than him, taking a hong bao from him is no big deal." As for how much was inside the hong bao, Ruby Lin merely shakes her head, saying that she'd forgotten.
Even after all the rumors about their relationships, to this day, neither YuPen nor Ruby has ever admit to anything but friendship between the two of them. Therefore what they truely were to each other remains a mystery still.
