10/12/2000-Lin Lee Xing: Sue Yu Pen's My Dream Lover!
New hostess of a TV show, Lin Lee Xing is planning to head straight toward the direction as a real artist in the entertainment circle. This time, Lin Lee Xing and Sue Yu Pen worked together in "Music Love Story", with the two of them acting as a couple in the script, Lee Xing, for the first time since she's entered the circle, gave her first hug to Su Yu Pen.

Youpeng gives up nearly 10 million dollars in order to publicize his new album
After not releasing any albums for a long 5 years, Su Youpeng is very serious about the success of his new album, "Are You Happy?". To prove this, he has even rejected a movie offer in Hongkong worth nearly 10 million Taiwan dollars, so that he can concentrate on publicizing his album.
Because he wants his album to have good sales, Youpeng has arranged for his publicity campaign to be scheduled during November. Even though he has lost a great deal of money after rejecting the movie offer, Youpeng thinks this is only right, because he does not want people to think he records albums for fun. His publicity tour destinations include Hongkong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and China, and he will probably hold a concert in China next year.
Despite facing tremendous pressure due to his five yera hiatus, Youpeng feels that it is more fortunate to be a singer, because he has the people's support, and he finds that singers get more compliments than actors, and this leaves him very touched.
With a pleasant baby-face like his, it is not surprising that he has many young female fans, but what is interesting is that he has a whole horde of 'housewife fans' too, who like his polite and well-mannered behaviour. Youpeng revealed that he has a group of ardent fans in Hongkong aged 30+ to 40+ who follow him all the way to China, and are willing to spend a lot of money buying 10 to 20 CDs at a go. ARE YOU HAPPY? OR NOT?

ALEC SU, as Little Tigers fans would remember, used to be known as the boyish chap known as Tommy Su.
This reviewer hazards an educated guess that maybe the actor-singer, now 27, just wants to grow up and be taken seriously. Never mind that he still looks like a lad all of 16.
Still, unlike Jimmy Lin, Su is making the transition from former teen-idol to all-serious adult-oriented crooner with pre-eminent ease.
One supposes the difference lies in one pivotal factor: He can really sing, and can emote better and more convincingly than Andy Lau.
Are You Happy? Or Not? is a mighty decent palate of ballads and token fast ditties that would please auntie fans as well as those pubescent fans who have all grown up with him to become independent career women.
The title track is a touching ode to the need for human contact in this cruel, heartless city where no one cares anymore. In AWOL, he cries so plaintively, anyone would take him into his or her arms.
Very conniving, very effective.

Twelve years in the music business and the Taiwanese former teen idol is back -- all grown up with a new album and a new old name.
NOTHING is really what it seems in the music business.
How about this for a sobering thought? Actor-singer Tommy Su, one-third of the now-defunct Taiwanese boyband, Little Tigers, has never really been a Tommy.
""Tommy is a name that my record company gave me. I didn't choose it. Privately, I've always been known as Alec,'' he tells Life! on a line from Taipei.
As if to prove the point, his latest Mandarin pop album, Are You Happy? Or Not?, has his real name emblazoned across the cover.
Produced by his new music label, Music Station, his far more mature moniker is accompanied by a spread of photographs which show an older, more mature Su.
Has the former teen idol, now aged 27, grown up?
""I'm sure I have, I've been in this business for over 12 years,'' he says in his quick-witted Mandarin.
""But most of all, I want the album to show that this is the real me.''
Launched into the Chinese pop music scene in 1988, he, Nicky Wu and Benny Chen were the Little Tigers, a trio which dispensed somewhat cheesy pop songs.
When they broke up in 1996, he turned to acting, and found success starring in five movies and seven TV serials. His most noted role was playing Fifth Prince in the regional smash TV serial, My Fair Princess, which was written by weepie queen Qiong Yau and is showing on Channel 8.
Acting is tougher by far, he says.
""When you sing, you have a whole team of promotional people behind you.
""But when you act, you are alone. You travel alone and film overseas for up to six months. You have no choice but to learn how to fend for yourself and grow up,'' he says.
In July, he made regional headlines when he fell off a horse and was taken to a hospital unconscious while filming a new serial, Rain And Tears, in China.
Does he look back and regret his Little Tiger days?
""What's there to regret?'' came his immediate answer.
""There were difficult times and some of them were heartbreaking, but I've gained more than I've lost.''
His right arm, which was injured from the fall, still hurts, he says.
""But since the accident, I've received so much medicine from my fans.
""I'm very lucky to be cared for by so many people,'' he adds with a gush of gratitude.
With five solo Mandarin albums under his belt, his latest album serves up a more adult concoction of pop, rock and ballads, he says.
With his last album, Go, released five years ago, stepping into the recording studio once more took some courage.
""After acting non-stop for four years, I was really nervous because everything had become unfamiliar,'' he offers.
Another casualty of his hectic filming schedule seems to be his love life.
He laments that he is now single, after a girlfriend of six months dumped him recently.
""I've been away in China filming most of the time so I didn't have time for her,'' he says.
But like the new-improved grown-up that he is now, he adds gallantly: ""I shall wait for another one quietly.''

9/30/2000-Ruby Lin and Alec Sue=???
Having filmed TV serie HZGG I, HZGG II, movie Big Winner, and now acted as lovers in Qiong Yao's new TV serie, QSSYMM, Ruby and Yupen can be described as very good friend, and knew one another really well. Even though they have both returned to Twaiwan after the QSSYMM filming has ended, they have not had time to meet up again until they were both special guests to the shows, "Super Sunday" and "Siao Yan Window."
There, the two friends finally met up, having had no time to see each other because both was busy. Ruby was busy promoting her new picture album, while YuPen was also busy promoting his new album. As anyone could see, they were very familiar with one another, having spent so much time with one another while filming
When they first arrived at the Super Sunday show, they were immediately labeled, "Jin Ton Yiu Neu" or can be described as best lovers, by hotess Siao Yan Sister and Jiao Jiao. But of course, they cleared that up during the show, saying that Ruby and Alec was only good friends.
YuPen says that he and Ruby didn't have chemistry because she was too "cool." She keeps telling him, "Don't think too much into it, don't think too much into it!"
But at an online chat, Ruby Lin was asked who she had better feelings for out of the Four Litte Heavenly Kings (YuPen Sue, Jimmy Lin, Nicky Wu and Jin Chen Wu). Ruby's reply was "Yupen!"
Who did she like better, Yupen Sue, or her old rumored boyfriend, Jimmy Lin?
Ruby: I like them both!
However, she clears up the long time misunderstanding, saying that there was never a relationship between Jimmy Lin and her.
Ruby also adds that in the entire entertainment circle, her best female friend is Zhao Wei.
Siao Yan Sister also says that though Ruby and Alec seems so capadible on appearance, they seems only to be friends. After all, only friends could do what Ruby did, which is let Alec have the first look through her new picture album.

9/29/2000-Sue Yu Pen seems normal in every aspects, but according to friends, he has this weird habit of saving all his things..
YuPen was not a shopaholic, however, he has this need to award himself after workign so hard. No matter which country he goes, he'll bring his beloved watches and glasses, most of which are old ones from 8 or 9 years ago.
YuPen has just passed his 27th birthday, having been in the entertainment circle for almost 12 years, definity an experienced artist, having been both a singer and actor. However, he has not forgotten the times when he was still in the Little Tigers group, and the hard time starting out. Having been in the circle for 12 years, he has collected quite a collection of the watches and glasses, and have finally become a real 'collector.'
Some of the watches he still keeps were designer watches, some are digital, some gold but there are some that are inexpensive watches that has a more of a sentimental value to Yupen. One of them was a watch that was given to him as a present by one of Yupen's teachers while he was still in school.
Though it has been quite a number of years, Yupen still remembers clearly during that time, his homeworks and grades were lowering gradually because he has just joined the Little Tigers group. He had a hard time juggling his homework and work. But this teacher helped him, carefully explaining every aspects of the homework to a grateful Yupen. When YuPen successfully passed the grade and was accepted by a famous college, his parent gave the teacher a large "Hong Bao" (red money bag) to thank the teacher for the help. The teacher felt embarrass in accepting it, therefore, he gave YuPen the very watch that Yupen kept.
By this we can tell, Yupen is a person that never forgets the past, and never forget a favor done for him.

9/26/2000-Rumors about Yupen's girlfriend has never left Ruby Lin or Vicki Zhao. If he could choose, he wants to change them both to either Sue Qui or Zhan Man Yu to love.
Every time there was a rumor about Yupen's girlfriend, it was either Zhao Wei or Ruby Lin. And in the TV serie that he's filmed, it seems it was always Vicki, and then Ruby...the female lead in his life never seems to change.
He answered, "Zhan Man Yu, of course!"
But wouldn't it be a "big sister, little brother affair?"
YuPen: "Hey, then I'll be following the latest trend, right?" Laughs and answers more seriously, "It's because I admire her acting skills, her loveliness and beauty really attracts me. I could learn alot from her."
Other than that, YuPen also wants to work with Sue Qi. He says, "Her figure is really good! She seems very feminine!" He thinks about it for a moment, than said, "Every person will always have dreams, right?"
Having been so long since he's had an album out, YuPen says he looks upon himself as a newcomer rather than an experimenced elder in the circle. He hopes that the fans will not only like him, but admire his talent as well.

9/25/2000-YuPen's most loyal fans: Moms!
Naturally, as a young and handsome idol, Yupen's fans consist a large number of young teenage girls. That was entirely normal...What wasn't normal was that the other half of his fans consist of mothers, and regular housewives. Like the teenagers, they follow YuPen wherever he goes, be it Shang Hai, Hong Kong, or like now, Twaiwan.
YuPen's nickname became, "housewife killer" as his fans consist of so many of them. When asked about it, Yupen answers sheepishly that he doesn't know whether these mid age housewives looked him on as a son, or a lover. Though they were older than him, their eyes followed him just as if they were the same age as the bubbling teenagers around him.
But, they were his most loyal fans, buying up many copies of his new albums, senting him medicines, food, cakes whether it was his birthday, or when he gets hurt. Last time he fell off the horse, these housewives naturally flew to Shang Hai with gifts and well wishings. There was one incident where a rich housewife wanted to give Yupen a very expensive outfit. YuPen explained that he was too afriad to accept the expensive gift, not wish for the media to find out about it and say he was being "kept" by a rich woman!

Fans of Alec are crazy over him. The moment the news of him being back in Taiwan, fans from whole of Taiwan comes after him. They are from the main 3 parts of Taiwan, which are Taipei, Tainan and Taizhong.
Fans were very concerned about Alec's fall from the horse. The previous day when he was in Nanjing, his China manager and film director did not see eye to eye over some matters, resulting to an argument. Alec's mood was thwarted, till he saw the warmness of his fans in Taiwan, which made him think " I'm still quite popular in Taiwan after all," which boost his morale greatly.
Alec's manager Miao Xiu Lu is pending on the scripts offered to Alec. They consist of Alec acting as a king, which requires him to shave his head, or doing present day series, or even maybe doing Taiwan's own series production.
At this point, Alec is extremely busy, as many film industries are waiting for him to nod his head in approval to accept their scripts. He is offered to be Emperor Qian Long, or doing a comedy film. China, not wanting to lag behind of others has also offered Alec filming opportunities.

On the Lantern Festival night in Taiwan, he expressed his views over the matter saying " I must say that she came for me, and I also agree that it was wrong of my assistant to hit the girl, but, she was equally in the wrong of uttering rude remarks and taking pictures secretly when she wasn't supposed to." He also expressed once again that he was willing to offer an apology to the girl on his assistant's behalf.
He return to Taiwan that night, for his promotion of his latest album "Are You Happy?" on the next day. He feels very helpless about the slapping situation, and has made a solemn explanation about it. He explains once again " First, I was called away by the director, and not ignoring about my assistant slapping my fan (the girl). Secondly, she knew the rules and yet still broke them. And thirdly, I feel that this incident has somewhat affected my image, as I'm afraid of misunderstandings, but I'm still willing to apologise."
He has made it clear to the reporters in Shanghai that he and his assistant had no intention of hitting the girl. He also added that Aunt Qiong Yau had always kept the pictures, looks of the character of her show under wraps, not allowing pictures to be taken during the filming period, so as not to affect the filming process.
The girl was asked to hand over the roll of film, but she refused, resulting to the rise of an heated argument. Alec said " What I have said is the truth, and it the fault of my assistant in hitting the girl, thus, I have apologized. I know she came for me, and I accept that. But I must still make it clear that I cannot do much to change this situation, and there are some China fans, who's action are a little too overboard."

Many fans went to the filming site of QSSYMM in Tang Shan, China, to catch a glimpse of Alec. This place is the setting of a raging war in the show QSSYMM. Many felt extremely fortunate after catching a glimpse of their idol.
The girl who was slapped said that a man approached them asking if they wanted to get near their idol, and at the same time getting paid. These fans were exhilarated, and agreed. But after a day of filming, the went to approach Mr. Zhang for their pay, and were asked to look for someone else for their pay. She said that there were about 10 of them who did a day's work without pay for their idol. After the incident of being slapped, the girl says that she doesn't want to go after stars anymore!"

Alec has been implicate by his assistant. His assistant slapped a student who tried to take pictures of Alec secretly. She cried on the spot when she was slapped. She said" I cried because of both pain on the face and in the heart." Her heart broke because Alec took no notice of her being slapped by his assistant.
This incident occurred on the Lantern Festival night, where the girl, who was an undergraduate of Nanjing was slapped by Alec's assistant when a heated argument arose. The girl was not supposed to take pictures or ask for signatures of the actors and actress during this filming period. Qiong Yau forbade it, as she didn't want pictures of the characters in the show to be sold and publicized before the show was out.
The girl wanted to catch a glimpse of Alec, and worked as an extra, by acting as a nurse on the set. At about 3 pm, she saw Alec and Ruby off set, and wanted to take pictures of them. But Alec saw it, and told her not to do so. Just as he finished his statement, 2 assistants of both male and female went forward to confront the girl.
A heated argument resulted, and the man asked if she wanted to be hit, while the girl replied saying "you're mad", which the girl resulted being slapped by the female assistant, and cried instantly. She reported this incident to the press, expressing her pain and disappointment in Alec not stopping his assistant in hitting her.
The press spoke to Alec's manager Miao Xiu Lu. She said Alec did not ignore this matter of his assistant slapping the girl. In the first place, he had told her off, not to take pictures, which she did not heed, and it was not that Alec turned a blind eye to this matter, but at that moment, he was called away by the director.
Alec's manager added that Alec felt very bad over this incident. The girl insisted that an apology was to be made to her by Alec. His manager voiced out saying it was not Alec's fault, and he did not owe her an apology.
Alec went back to Taiwan last night to make things clear to the press saying " She is a fan of mine, but at that time,she is an extra actress, taking on the role as a nurse. She knows that she isn't supposed to take pictures, but yet she did it all the same by hiding the camera in the first aid kit." He added saying that both parties were in the wrong and he is willing to offer her an apology.
Thanks to this , it caused quite a stir in the entertainment world especially in China.
9/21/2000-Despite all the invitations Yupen has gotten from various producers to film TV series and etc, YuPen still decided to take the rest of the month off to promote his new album, Are You Happy, which had already been released at the beginning of September in Twaiwan as well as a few other places. He has now finished filming QSSYMM, and was back in action.
His schedule was packed as soon as he came back to Twaiwan, and he shall be attending various shows and etc. during this month, so fans, watch out!

9/12/00 - A Nanjing University fan of Suyupeng, turned part time actoress today and was "hit" by Su's assistant!
She and 3 other friends had been hanging in a nearby hotel for a couple days before they were chosen to play the extras in the war scene in the QSSYMM. The incident happened at about 3.00 pm when the fan saw Su talking Ruby Lin on their next scene. The fan, thinking that it was a good opportunity, took out her camera intending to take some photos. Su saw her in time and asked her unhappily to "not take any pictures." As soon as he had finished his sentence, a male and female crew member approached the girl and yelled "What are you doing? Do you want to be beatened?"
Then, Su's Assistant came and hit her. The university fan got frightened and cried. She reported this incident to reporters later, claiming that she not only was she sad that she was hit by Su's Assistant but also heartbroken that Su, who saw everyting, didn't even care! He neither came forward to help nor console her.

9/18/00 - Upon questioned by reporters, Su refused to comment. However, Su's Manager later clarified that Su had called her that night and related the happenings to her. She claimed that Su's Assistant had used her bag to hit the fan and when it happened, the Director had called for them to standby. He was not there to see it for upon hearing the Director's instruction, he had hurried to continue filiming as the schedule was tight.
He was very innocently unaware of the incident and felt really bad that he was somehow blamed for something he had not even been aware of.
As everybody know, the author of QSSYMM, (Qiong Yao), had wanted to keep the whole story a secret and has even instructed reporters that is allowed to visit the scene not to reveal anything on QSSYMM. On the this, the university fan has already violated the rules and responsbility as a Part Time Actors.
Moreover, due to strainess and nightless filiming, Su and other members of the cast were both tired and anxious wanting only finish the scenes. They didn't and couldn't have even known about the incident. Su's Manager further clarified that Su will not apologise to the fan as it was Su's Assistant who hit her and not him. He was just as in the dark as everyone else! Besides, both the fan and his Assistant were the one in the wrong.
Can't not comment on this, I'm sorry!
I can understand why this fan would want to take a picture of her idol, but to give him such a birthday present! "HE HIT ME!" She cried...If I were there....~_~!

9/12/2000- As most of you know, yesteraday was our dear Alec's 27th birthday, here, i represent all fans when I say, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEC!! May all your dreams come true!!!"
This year, Alec's birthday wish was, "Let me grow up and become an adult!" Even though he was already 27, well past the adolscent age, people still regarded him as "Siao Guai." With that image, it was hard to convince people that he was really a man, and not just a boy any longer. "I am now a sophisticated man!" Alec announced.
With his birthday, came the millions of birthday wishes, cakes, presents, cards and etc. However, his biggest present this year was winning two awards, in Shang Hai, his new album, "Are You Happy" was chosen as one of the "Ten Best Singing" in Mainland China. Also, the soap commercial that he filmed last year was also won the "New Millenium's Commercial" award.
Not only that, but in Hong Kong, at the Yes! Magazine's, under his loyal fans voting, he stole the spot from hot star Nicholas Xia and placed #1 on the chart!
To him, these were the best presents! YuPen says, "I couldn't have done it without the fans, thank you!"
